Most medication alerts overridden

KEY POINT

Results of a retrospective study of more than 200,000 medication safety alerts generated by an electronic prescribing system showed that clinicians override most of these alerts, only acting on 9.2% of drug interaction alerts and 23% of allergy alerts.
