Inactivated H1N1 vaccine safe, immunogenic in patients with asthma

KEY POINT

A single 15-μg dose of inactivated influenza A (H1N1) vaccine is safe and induces a strong immunogenic response in most patients with asthma, according to a study recently published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. In patients 60 years or older with severe asthma, a 30-μg dose of inactivated H1N1 vaccine may provide improved immunogenicity.
