Glycemic control can reduce pre-eclampsia in women with type 1 diabetes

KEY POINT

High glycosylated hemoglobin (A1C) values before and during pregnancy are linked to development of pre-eclampsia in women with type 1 diabetes, according to a recently published trial. These results reinforce the need for glycemic control in women planning to become pregnant and early in a pregnancy.
