Intensive glucose control: Surprising benefits for heart disease


Data from a new post hoc analysis of the Action to Control Cardiovascular Risk in Diabetes (ACCORD) trial suggest that intensive glycemic control may be associated with a 15%–20% reduction in the risk of myocardial infarction (MI), unstable angina, and coronary revascularization.
