Revised guidelines update first-line treatments for HIV

KEY POINT

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Panel on Antiretroviral Guidelines for Adults and Adolescents updated the list of preferred regimens for antiretroviral therapy-naive, HIV-infected individuals to include regimens based on dolutegravir (Tivicay—GlaxoSmithKline; ViiV Healthcare) and elvitegravir (a component of Stribild—Gilead).
