Celecoxib Doses Differ for Arthritis, Polyps

KEY POINT

The late December approval of celecoxib (Celebrex—Searle) for familial adenomatous polyps (FAP) brings with it a third dosage regimen for pharmacists to recognize as appropriate: 400 mg twice daily. The approved dosage range for osteoarthritis is 100 mg bid or 200 mg qd, while that for rheumatoid arthritis is 100–200 mg bid.
