Proton-pump inhibitors associated with a higher risk of kidney disease


Use of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) was associated with a 20% to 50% higher risk of chronic kidney disease and a higher risk for acute kidney injury, according to an observational analysis published in JAMA Internal Medicine.
