Third dose of MMR vaccine may be an effective strategy for a mumps outbreak

KEY POINT

Administration of a third dose of the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine to a highly vaccinated population of college students during a mumps outbreak reduced the risk of mumps, compared with students who had received only two previous doses of MMR.
