Cancer incidence increased in kidney transplant candidates, recipients

KEY POINT

A large population-based study shows a slightly increased incidence of a variety of cancers, especially those with viral components in their etiologies, among patients in the years leading up to kidney transplant followed by a threefold increase in this risk after patients receive a renal graft.
