Caffeine is not effective for management of Parkinson disease symptoms
KEY POINT
Use of caffeine capsules by patients with Parkinson disease (PD) did not result in any significant improvement compared with placebo for motor parkinsonism or motor signs or symptoms, and it was associated with worse cognitive testing scores, according to results of a small, randomized trial published in Neurology.
