Low-dose CT replacing X-ray as standard screening for lung cancer


More early-stage lung cancers were detected by low-dose computed tomography (CT) than by chest radiography, according to results from the National Lung Screening Trial (NLST). Findings suggest a decrease in mortality from lung cancer can be achieved in the United States through this strategy.
