One-time flexible sigmoidoscopy reduces colorectal cancer diagnosis, death

KEY POINT

In a multicenter, large randomized trial involving more than 170,000 patients aged 55 to 64 years, a one-time flexible sigmoidoscopy screening reduced the incidence of colorectal cancer by 33% and associated mortality by 43% compared with a control group not offered the one-time test.
