Updated guideline on management of low back pain

KEY POINT

The American College of Physicians (ACP) released an updated guideline on management of low back pain that recommends nonpharmacologic therapies as initial treatment for acute and chronic pain. If additional pain relief is needed, NSAIDs and skeletal muscle relaxants can be used for acute pain, and NSAIDs, tramadol, and duloxetine can be used for chronic pain.
